Cuba Weather

We are often asked about the weather at different times of year in Cuba, and it might make a difference as to when you travel. In fact, the weather patterns are pretty much the same across Cuba.

In general, temperatures are fairly constant all year round. They average a maximum of around 30c or 87F, with a couple of degrees warmer in our summer, and a couple of degrees cooler in our winter. But all year round it will be very warm.

However there is more of a difference when it comes to rain. Basically, the dry months are November to April, with more chance of rain between May and October.

The big question though is, will it rain all the time, or will you just get the odd heavy shower? Well lets look at sunshine hours. In the dry months, you get around 7 hours of sunshine per day. But in the wetter months you get more! Why? Well there is more daylight for a start, but really it suggests that the sun is not gone for long. You'll get a quick downpour, and then the sun comes back out.

One thing to note is that there are hurricanes in Cuba. You will be unlucky to get one, but they can occur usually between June and mid November, with September and October most likely.

Conclusion - the ideal time to visit Cuba is March, April and May - there are no hurricanes, there is not much rain, and you get lots of sunshine hours.
